My favorite comedy-Guess Who

My favorite comedy is "Guess Who". It was produced in 2005. This movie was about a black girl Theresa who brought her new boyfriend Simon Green home for her parents' 25th wedding anniversary. Theresa didn't mention that Simon is white before, so when they arrived at Theresa's home, Theresa's father Percy Jones thought the black taxi driver as Theresa's boyfriend and he even told Simon just to put the baggage in front of the door. After explanation, Percy Jones didn't like Simon, so he did everything he could to make Simon felt "apart" of the family.

I remember there was a humorous scene that Percy didn't want Simon to slept in their house so he drove Simon to the hotel. When they were in the car, Percy turned on the radio. It was played the song "Brother Louie" and its lyrics were "She was black as the night, Louie was whiter than white..." so Percy turned off the radio immediately. After many things were gone, Percy changed his points of vies. He realized that Simon really loved Theresa and he couldn't be so selfish, so he accepted Simon finally.

This movie is injected some racial problems about western-culture. We also can see how much the father treasured the daughter. Every father hopes their daughter can marry someone well-matched, so Percy’s behavior is generally normal. Simon is an important character; he was actually a victim in the movie because Percy tried to make Theresa misunderstood him, so he had to play up to Percy and maintained the relationship between him and Theresa.
