My favorite comedy

　　My favorite comedy movie is “Guess Who”, it was produced in 2005. This movie is about a black girl Theresa brings her new boyfriend Simon Green home for her parents’ 25th wedding anniversary. Theresa doesn’t mention that Simon Green is white, so at first when they arrive at Theresa’s home, Theresa’s father Percy Jones thought the black taxi driver is Theresa’s boyfriend and he even tells Simon just put the baggage in front of the door. After explanation, Percy Jones doesn’t like Simon of course so he does everything he can to make Simon feel “apart” of the family.

　　I remember there is one humor scene that Percy doesn’t want Simon to sleep in their house so he drives Simon to the hotel, when they in the car, Percy turns on the radio, it’s playing the song “Brother Louie” and its lyrics are “She was black as the night, Louie was whiter than white…” so Percy turns off the radio immediately. After been through many things, Percy changes his point of view, he realized that Simon really loves Theresa and he can’t be so selfish, so he accept Simon finally.

　　This movie is inject some racial problems about western-culture, we also can see how much the father loves the daughter, every father wishes their daughter to marry someone well matched, so people like Percy acting like that is generally normal. Simon is an important character in this movie; the movie must have a white man so the story can be continue. Actually, I think Simon is like a victim in the movie because he has to do so many things to make Percy likes him and he also has to preserves the relationship between he and Theresa. After seen this movie, I can feel that love is the touchstone of virtue.
